Mother’s Day 5/9/21

Sunday 5/9/21 is Mother’s Day. Reach out to your amazing mother and tell her you love her. I would give anything to be able to do so with my mothers! I was blessed with 2 amazing mothers.

My biological mother passed away at the early age of 34, I was 12 at the time. My mother was Japanese and her death was attributed to the Nagasaki bomb as she was 7 years old when the event happened. She actually passed away in the Nagasaki Atomic Disease Hospital. I watched her pass away. I will be 60 next month and I can still very vividly see her face and hear her words “Itai”which means “it hurts”. As I write this, I am in tears. Knowing that my mother passed away so young in such pain hurts me VERY deep (a pain SO deep that I can’t even begin to express my feelings in words). Watching my mother pass away is the worst experience in my life!!!!!

I was blessed with a second mother Myke Taylor. My biological father was an abusive man. I had myself removed from his custody when I was 14. Myke (Mavis) and Walt Taylor, applied for a foster parents license just so they could welcome me into their home even though they had 7 children of their own. I will be forever grateful to them both. Myke and Walt have both since passed but I am very blessed to have had another wonderful mother, father and family.

The bond between mothers and their children is fierce. Often times, you will hear about wildlife attacking humans or other wildlife while trying to protect their babies (we unfortunately just had a bear attack here in Colorado). Humans are no different. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to protect my two daughters. I would gladly give up my own life without a second thought for either one of them. Once a mother, always a mother. My daughters are 35 and 40 and they are STILL my babies!!!! Dont’ mess with Mama Bear!

Reach out to your mother this Sunday. Tell her you love her because you never know when she will be gone and the opportunity will belost!!!!
