The story………”The Bike” has taken “us” (Bob & I) on one heck of a ride. We started showing the bike & winning prize money. We decided we wanted to do something good with the winnings so we chose “Flag of Honor” to donate all winnings to help their organization. The “Flag of Honor” has all 3,000 names of the people we lost during the 9-11 attack.

On the amazing 4th year anniversary ride into ground zero, all we heard from people in New York was “it is really nice to see people as far west as Colorado remember 9-11”. It really bothered us that they thought the country had forgotten the tragic events of 9-11. We knew we had to do something. 50 plus “Flag of Honor” flags were purchased. Through family and friends, we found someone in every state of the U.S. to help with our project. We sent everyone a complimentary flag and a note card if they wanted to write a message. All we asked in return was a picture of them with the flag or where the flag was placed and the note card. Once we collected all the photos and note cards (a full year project), we created a banner - “We Have Not Forgotten”. The banner has a picture of every state with the “Flag of Honor” as well as Canada and the UK. We presented the banner to the assistant to the Governor of New York on the 5 year anniversary of 9-11. Yes, our bike has taken us for an amazing ride!!!!!!!!!
